Management and Operation of PA

Nature tourists place a strong emphasis on wildlife numbers, visibility, and the presence of charismatic species and characters such as the physical landscape and flora of the natural environment when selecting a destination. Ethiopia boasts a rich and dynamic combination of both these elements for tourists. Within and adjacent to areas of the PA system of Ethiopia, there are untapped opportunities for the development of new tourism products and services by the private sector.

Aim

The private sector’s involvement in PA management can be through delegated management or co-management to tackle funding deficits that hinder PAs from meeting their prime objective.  Interested organizations and/or persons who have an interest in PA management must follow the national PPP procedures.
