“Taxidermy” means the act of impersonating wildlife using the products of dead or legally hunted wild animals, or the preparation and presentation of animal products.
It is imperative to expand the involvement of wildlife in the development of the country by increasing the economic advantages obtained from wildlife resources via both consumptive and non-consumptive utilization strategies. The economic endeavors related to wildlife and its commodities need to be conducted in a lawful fashion that safeguards the wildlife from harm.
Taxidermy could contribute to Ethiopia’s economic benefits through consumptive use mechanisms and encourage quality wildlife taxidermy products. Interested persons who are applying to get a license for taxidermy must fulfill the requirements set in wildlife taxidermy directive No. 23/2015.
